Poor fuel mileage rating

The old adage ‘a stitch in time saves nine’ holds true for cars also, as I learnt the hard way. Due to tremendous work pressure I had been avoiding getting my car serviced and the car was chugging along with apparently no problems. This made me even more negligent until one day I realized that car was giving very poor Fuel Mileage Rating and my fuel costs had upped considerably. When I finally did make it to the service station, it was borne upon me that regular maintenance of the car was very important. Otherwise a lot of strain is put on the engine leading to greater fuel consumption and thus poorer Fuel Mileage Rating. Needless to say, I have learnt my lesson and hope to be more careful in future.
