Joint Custody Could Determine How Much Child Support is Paid
Many factors are used to determine how joint custody child support rules apply to your individual case. Of course, each state has its own set of laws that may allow more flexibility than in others. The best thing to do is consult with a family law attorney in your state to find out your rights. Joint custody alone can mean different things in different states. The time that a child spends with each parent could be split 50/50, or by a one-third to two-thirds ratio. The amount of time determines how much one or both parents will have to pay in child support.
