Kids at Heart
For as long as I can remember, my parents lived next door to Marge and Joe Benson, a wonderfully energetic and cheerful couple. Although the Benson’s were childless, all the kids in the neighborhood congregated at their house because there was always something fun going on. Not long ago the couple moved to a senior community. Knowing the Benson’s independence, I asked my mother how they were doing. She laughed and told me that last week Joe organized a picnic and Marge talked her neighbors into spicing up their soaking bathtubs with day-glo “flower power” tub mats. The Benson’s are still having a ball. I’m not a bit surprised.
