Adopt a rescue dog
A friend of mine once adopted a dog that he found as a stray in the street. It was only about a month old, and had either been dumped there or gotten lost. Nobody will ever know. What was sure that the dog was incapable of looking after itself, and my friend, Arthur, took it till the puppy was old enough to be found a permanent home. As it happens, Arthur found himself more and more attached to the puppy, and when the time came to find the pup a home, he found it impossible to do. He had built such a friendship with the dog, and the puppy now christened Duffy, who seemed to realize that Arthur had saved his life, now followed him around all the time. As Arthur grew older, he began to suffer from problems with his eye site, and Duffy, realizing that something was wrong with his master, began to act as a sort of seeing eye dog, although unofficially. Arthur and Duffy is a well known couple wandering around town, a living monument of how a dog is a man’s best and most loyal friend.
