Precision Surgery Of The Eye
Photorefractive keratectomy is a precise procedure for the correction of a patient’s eyesight. Ultraviolet laser intensity and movements are controlled by a program that includes a map of the patient’s cornea. The ultraviolet beams reshape the eye by removing excess tissue from the cornea. To qualify for laser eye surgery, you must be at least 18 to 21 years of age. At this point, the eyes of a human being stops growing and therefore remain the same in size and shape. Since most health insurance policies will not shoulder the costs of laser eye surgery, having a bit of money saved up is your primary qualification requirement.
