What are hypertension medications?
There are all together eight types of medications for hypertension like diuretics, beta blockers, angiotensin, angotensin II, calcium channel blockers, aplha blockers, central acting agents and direct vasolidators. All these medications are prescribed based on the cause of hypertension. For instance if the high BP is due to dense blood volume then diuretics are prescribed which reduce the amount to body fluids to decrease the pressure. One should follow routine of medications properly to reduce the blood pressure. And if one feels some side effects they must bring immediate attention to the doctor about such side effects.
